Work out Post 16 course-funding amounts as follows:

  • Divide the qualification Guided Learning Hours (GLH) by 450 (this gives you your 'SLN')
  • Times this figure by the national base rate of £2920
  • Times this figure by your 'Provider Factor' (an average Provider Factor = 1.2)
  • Add on your 'ALS' (Additional Learner Support; an amount of funding awarded dependant on the number of passed GCSEs)

(SLN x 2920) x Provider Factor + ALS

The course code can be found on the:

-  National Accreditations of Qualifications Database at www.accreditedqualifications.org.uk

- Learning Aims Database (LAD) at http://providers.lsc.gov.uk/lad (enter course code into ‘Aim Reference’ box in the ‘LAD Search’)

Some Local Authorities may have discretionary funds available to assist, however these funds are not guaranteed. In all cases you would be advised to speak with your Local Authority contact.
